Our mission is to provide an effective, inexpensive and convenient way of learning Brazilian Portuguese with native speakers, and thus open a window of opportunities related to Brazil for our students.

Our Story

PortugueseLive was founded by Veronica Ponce de Leon, a Portuguese teacher born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. With a degree in Public Relations and Journalism, she has taught Portuguese to all types of foreigners since 2004. She first began teaching Portuguese in coffee shops in Austin, Texas, allowing her to provide intimate Portuguese classes in an informal environment.

After receiving an overwhelming demand for her private Portuguese classes, she decided to reach out to people beyond Austin by incorporating online Portuguese lessons via Skype. Since then Portuguese Live has added a number of native Brazilian tutors that teach Portuguese to students from Texas to Dubai.

Our Teachers

Our teachers are qualified native Brazilians with university degrees. They have extensive experience teaching one-on-one Portuguese to foreigners, ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
